First edition (1972), hardcover in good condition with original dust jacket. Dust jacket is preserved in a plastic cover, which is taped to the back board; the plastic shows only minor surface scratches visible upon close inspection. Pages are clean and unmarked. Binding is sound, though lifting slightly from the spine. There is some slight bending on the ends of the spine and a few small scuffs around the edges of the book. On the front pastedown is a lengthy handwritten letter in pen from a previous owner, with their name, the date of acquisition, and a pasted photograph on the front free endpaper. A solid and presentable copy of this acclaimed biography, written by Woolf s nephew Quentin Bell, offering a deeply personal and well-researched portrait of one of the 20th century's most influential literary figures.
