Paperback. Despite the fame carried by his name, to this day Vincenzo Galilei's work and its reception have been largely neglected. This volume provides an analysis of his figure and intellectual legacy from a multidisciplinary perspective, including unpublished or rarely cited materials. The contributions span from philosophy to musicology, science, history and art, and highlight the complexity of his thought and the role played by music in the formation of philosophical and scientific thought in the modern age.
