Paperback. Vinagrito is a heartwarming, multigenerational tale inspired by one of Cuba's most beloved children's songs. When Teresita, a retired music teacher living in a quiet town, discovers a frail, unwanted kitten on the verge of abandonment, she brings him home-and back to life. She names him Vinagrito and together, they begin a journey of healing, belonging, and unexpected love.As the seasons change, so does Vinagrito-from a fragile scrap of fur into the heart of the home. But love, like cats, doesn't always stay in one place. When Teresita's daughter returns home and Vinagrito begins to pull away, the family must navigate the quiet aches of growing up, growing old, and letting go.Written by Cuban-born author Jesus Barroso and inspired by the cherished lullaby passed down from his grandmother to his American-born daughter, Vinagrito brings the song to life for the first time in story form. Perfect for readers of all ages, this beautifully told book explores themes of love, abandonment, and what it means to truly belong.A heartfelt gift for families, cat lovers, and anyone who's ever been saved by something small.
