Very little to no wear. Quite clean. 'John Colquhoun was born on January 1, 1748. While young, he was given good books to read such as Thomas Boston's Human Nature in Its Fourfold State. This great preacher became a mentor to Colquhoun through his books. In 1768 he entered the University of Glasgow. He was licensed to preach by the presbytery in August of 1780, and was ordained on March 22, 1781 to the pastoral charge of the New Church, Leith, where he remained for forty years. He died on November 27, 1827. His writings and sermons are doctrinally sound, simply applied, and Christ-exalting.' First published in Edinburgh in 1824. This Northampton Press edition, in which spelling, grammar, and formating changes have been made, is copyright 2008. 292 pages. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall.
