Este texto español es, por tanto, una pieza fundamental de la literatura española y un valioso recurso para los historiadores de la cultura.Publicado de forma anónima debido a su contenido subversivo, el texto narra la vida de Lazarillo de Tormes, un héroe pícaro que sobrevive en un mundo corrupto mediante su ingenio y astucia. Escrita antes de 1530, la novela fue impresa inicialmente en Burgos hacia 1552/53, con impresiones subsiguientes en Alcalá de Henares, Burgos y Amberes en 1554.La obra cuenta la historia de Lazarillo desde una perspectiva de clase baja, describiendo sus experiencias bajo una serie de amos con condiciones cada vez más precarias. La narrativa expone la sociedad del siglo XVI a través de los encuentros de Lazarillo con un mendigo ciego, un clérigo, un caballero empobrecido, un fraile, entre otros. A diferencia de los cuentos románticos de la época, esta novela contrasta de manera contundente al revelar la dura realidad que enfrentan los marginados de la sociedad.Crítica tanto de la Iglesia católica como de la aristocracia española, *Vida de Lazarillo de Tormes* enfrentó la oposición de la Inquisición, siendo incluida en el Índice de Libros Prohibidos en 1559. Posteriormente, se publicó una versión censurada titulada *Lazarillo castigado* en 1573, mientras que el texto original no fue permitido hasta el siglo XIX. A pesar de la censura, la novela ejerció una profunda influencia en la literatura europea, inspirando personajes como Don Quijote y Simplicissimus, cuyo linaje se remonta a Lazarillo. Incluso los antihéroes de la literatura contemporánea y de los medios modernos deben parte de su inspiración a este pionero pícaro español.La primera edición de *Vida de Lazarillo de Tormes* fue publicada en Amberes por Martín Nucio en 1554, marcando el inicio del género picaresco. Narrada por Lazarillo, un joven de origen humilde convertido en hábil ladrón, la novela satiriza la Iglesia católica y la aristocracia española, lo que llevó a su inclusión en la lista de libros prohibidos por la Inquisición española. Statutory Right to cancel
You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

Effects of cancellation
