Set in the middle of WWII, the author, who served as both an aeronautical designer & bomber pilot in that war, reviews the importance of air power in winning all the crucial battles of the war thus far, & argues that the US must begin to "think & fight primarily in terms of air power" to take the offensive against the Axis powers & win the war. Orig. published in 1942, this is a Book Club Edition (BCE), with leaflet from BOMC laid in. In 354 pages with black-and-white photos throughout text, this hardcover has light blue cloth-covered boards lettered in gilt to front & spine. Condition is VG: completely clean, binding solid with slight cocking, hinges intact. Pages mildly tanned, but completely unmarked; endpapers show heavier offsetting. Slight rubbing to extremities & pushing to both ends of spine. The unclipped DJ is Good: colorful, bright, & largely intact, but with noticeable rubbing to extremities & many small chips, creases, unclosed tears; nicely protected in new mylar cover free! Our photos show the Exact book you will receive from us, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have. Same day shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific time); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.…
