Paperback. The Victoria Cross. 1856-1964. Couple of slight creases to cover. Jack Cornwell, Bill Speakman, Guy Gibson.these are names which will be forever remembered in the annals of war as recipients of the highest award for valour. There are many more holders of the V.C., not so well known, but no less brave, who have risked their lives in the name of their country. In this shorter version of his standard history of the Victoria Cross, Sir John Smyth omits the statistical information but records all V.C.s awarded from the Crimean War to the present day; he also paints a graphic picture of many of the circumstances under which the award has been gained. Illustrated. 221 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions, Reference books ,and all types of Academic Literature.).
