Smooth spine divided into six panels by gilt double fillets, lettered in the second on a red goatskin label, plain endleaves and edges. (Early patched repair at head of upper joint, a little rubbed with surface loss). With the half-title. Small wormhole in outer margin of last few leaves. Ink inscription "Melanie" on rear fly-leaf. A very good copy. The label is lettered "Vicar of Wakef" and the patched repair is crude but not unattractive. This is the third edition of The Vicar of Wakefield to be published in English in Paris.
