Eight classic stories. Eight doors into the strange.
Veils of the Unseen, the first volume of The Forbidden Realms Anthologies, brings together tales of occult horror, visionary mystery, and supernatural wonder. The selection moves from Dion Fortune’s psychic danger to Robert W. Chambers’s unsettling beauty, through Arthur Machen’s secret rites and Algernon Blackwood’s haunted wilderness, before turning toward cosmic dread, the cost of a wish, a ghostly Japanese legend, and a luminous allegorical quest.
Inside this volume:
• “Blood-Lust” — Dion Fortune
• “The Mask” — Robert W. Chambers
• “The White People” — Arthur Machen
• “The Willows” — Algernon Blackwood
• “The Dunwich Horror” — H. P. Lovecraft
• “The Monkey’s Paw” — W. W. Jacobs
• “The Story of Mimi-Nashi-Hoichi” — Lafcadio Hearn
• “The Golden Key” — George MacDonald
With a foreword by André Consciência, original illustrations accompanying the stories, and author biographies, this Star Lore edition invites readers to follow the connections between weird fiction, occult imagination, and the stories that shaped both.
