Print on Demand. This book arose in response to increasing demand for a shorter path to serving in the Canadian army. The text brings together the thoughts and speeches of Professor T. R. Louden on the role of education in wartime, with the Varsity War Supplement published as part of the university's student newspaper. The work includes an extensive list of the names of those graduates and students who gave their lives or services to the war effort. It includes tributes to the fallen, articles on aspects of Canadian society during the war, and also highlights the role that University of Toronto played in the First World War. The book's final supplement describes the transformation of the Queen Victoria Rifles into a heavy artillery brigade and the establishment of a university corps. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
