This book is in Very Good condition and has a partial dust jacket. The book is in generally clean, condition. The spine ends and corners of the book covers have some lightish bumping and rubbing. The white paper spine label has small hole and has some wrinkling / bumping to the top right corner. The text pages are clean and bright. There is a previous owner's inked name and date to the front pastedown page. The dust jacket is lacking the rear flap edge, and has several small tears , a small hole to the top spine end, general light wear and tear and spots of foxing and light generalized toning. There is noticeable toning to the front flap joint. "William James (January 11, 1842 August 26, 1910) was an American philosopher and psychologist. The first educator to offer a psychology course in the United States, he is considered to be one of the leading thinkers of the late 19th century, one of the most influential philosophers and is often dubbed the "father of American psychology." Born into a wealthy family, James was the son of the Swedenborgian theologian Henry James Sr. And the brother of both the prominent novelist Henry James and the diarist Alice James. James trained as a physician and taught anatomy at Harvard, but never practiced medicine. Instead, he pursued his interests in psychology and then philosophy. He wrote widely on many topics, including epistemology, education, metaphysics, psychology, religion, and mysticism." (from Wikipedia).
