A Mission Into Hell
Venus was never meant to be conquered.
Not by machines.
Not by science.
And certainly not by men.
When a classified research outpost on the surface of Venus goes silent without warning, the official report is swift and convenient: catastrophic systems failure.
But the final transmission tells a different story.
Movement where there should be none.
A signal that doesn't belong.
A silence that feels... deliberate.
Something didn't just fail.
Something took control.
The Most Dangerous Planet in the Solar System
Commander Grant Rutherford leads Valkyrie Wing, an elite orbital strike team engineered for one purpose: survive where no one else can.
Their orders are simple:
Descend into Venus's crushing atmosphere.
Locate the lost outpost.
Recover all remaining data.
Extract before the planet kills them.
But Venus is not just hostile.
It is alive in ways no one anticipated.
With atmospheric pressure capable of crushing steel, temperatures hot enough to melt reinforced alloys, and acid storms that strip anything exposed, every second on the surface is a countdown to death.
And yet... something is still moving out there.
A Discovery That Should Not Exist
Inside the ruins of the outpost, Valkyrie Wing finds more than destruction.
They find evidence.
Encrypted military data hidden from command.
A secondary signal buried deep within the system.
Technology that was never authorized... and never reported.
And worst of all-
Something that survived the collapse.
Something that moves faster than any drone.
Something no scanner can lock onto.
Something watching them from the shadows.
This was never a research mission.
It was a test.
Trapped Between the Environment and the Unknown
As systems begin to fail and time runs out, the team is forced into an impossible situation:
Stay and uncover the truth...
or escape while they still can.
But leaving means abandoning answers.
And on Venus, unanswered questions don't stay buried.
They follow you.
With every step deeper into the wreckage, the team realizes a terrifying truth:
They were never sent to recover the mission.
They were sent to see if anyone could survive it.
War Has Reached the Surface of Hell
What begins as a recovery operation spirals into a fight for survival against an enemy that doesn't follow the rules of physics, warfare, or logic.
Weapons may not stop it.
Sensors can't track it.
And the environment itself is trying to finish what it started.
Valkyrie Wing is outnumbered.
Outmatched.
And running out of time.
Because whatever destroyed the outpost...
is still here.
A Relentless Military Sci-Fi Thriller
Valkyrie Wing: Venus Black delivers a brutal, cinematic blend of hard science fiction and high-intensity military action, grounded in real planetary science and driven by relentless tension.
Perfect for readers who crave:
Elite strike teams in impossible environments
High-stakes survival under extreme conditions
First-contact scenarios with a deadly twist
Fast-paced, no-compromise military sci-fi
This is not a mission of exploration.
This is a mission of survival.
On Venus... There Is No Rescue
No reinforcements.
No second chances.
No margin for error.
Only heat.
Only pressure.
Only the unknown.
And when the signal goes dark again...
No one is coming to find you.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
