Every trading platform draws it automatically — the single line that institutions trade around all day long. Yet most traders glance at VWAP without ever understanding what it is, why it matters, or how to trade it. VWAP for Beginners changes that.
In this clear, practical guide, Dean Cross breaks down the Volume Weighted Average Price from the ground up — no jargon, no hype — in the warm, mentor-over-coffee style that runs through his acclaimed Technical Analysis Series. You'll go from "What is that line?" to reading price like a seasoned trader, armed with specific, rules-based setups you can put to work right away.
Inside, you'll learn how to:
- Understand what VWAP truly measures — and why the largest players in the market pay such close attention to it
- Read price against the line to instantly gauge who's in control of the session
- Trade four high-probability setups — the Bounce, the Reclaim, the Breakout, and the Fade — each with exact entry, stop, and target rules
- Use the standard-deviation bands to measure when price is stretched or trending
- Apply Anchored VWAP to carry your edge into swing and position trading
- Recognize exactly when VWAP fails — the honest, capital-protecting chapter most books leave out
- Build a complete, written trading plan with smart risk management at its core
With plain-English explanations and clear illustrative charts, every concept builds on the last — so by the final page you'll have both the knowledge and the confidence to trade with discipline.
Whether you're brand new to technical analysis or finally ready to master the line you've been staring at for years, this is the guide that makes VWAP click.
The line is already on your chart. Learn to read it.
