Com 7 páginas não numeradas, seguidas de 13 folhas desdobráveis de31x85 cm., impressas apenas pela frente e com numeração romana. Ilustrado com gravuras desenhadas por Feio e gravadas por Michellis. As primeiras cinco foram executadas na litografia da Imprensa Nacional e as restantes ficaram a cargo da Comissão Geológica de Portugal. As gravuras apresentam o perfil da costa portuguesa, desde a região norte do Rio Sizandro e da Ericeira, até ao sul em Sesimbra. Brochado. O texto introdutório de Zbyszewski ocupa 3 das primeiras páginas. Em cada prancha, destacam-se as seguintes localidades: Prancha 1 : Santa Cruz e Pizão. Prancha 2: Porto da Calada. Prancha 3: Ericeira. Prancha 4: São Julião Prancha 5: Forte de Sta. Maria; Azenhas do Mar e Praia Grande. Prancha 6: Praia da Adraga e Focinho do Cabo da Roca Prancha 7: Forte do Guincho, Forte da Galé e Forte de São Brás. Prancha 8: Forte e Farol da Guia, Cidadela de Cascais; até à Ribeira de Bicesse. Prancha 9: Praia da Vigia da Parede até à Torre de São Julião da Barra; Foz do Tejo; e Forte de Picagallo até à Fonter da Pipa na Costa de Caparica. Prancha 10: Descidas das Vacas, Descida da Raposa até à Mina do Ouro. Prancha 11: Costa da Adiça, Lagoa de Albufeira, até ao Ri beiro da Tábua. Prancha 12: Praia de Mocinhos (Paia do Meco), Cabo Espichel, até à Pombeira. Prancha 13: Forte das Baralhas e Baleeira até à Pedra do Frade (perto de Sesimbra) Importante trabalho para o estudo das formações geológicas e da erosão do litoral a Norte e Sul de Lisboa. O geólogo Georges Zbyszewski (1909-1999) encontrou nos arquivos da Biblioteca dos Serviços Geológicos de Portugal um acervo oitocentista dos presentes levantamentos. Resolveu publicar 290 exemplares no âmbito do 16.º Congresso Internacional de Cartografia realizado em Lisboa, em 1949. Estes exemplares, litografados no século XIX, são o resultado de um estudo efectuado entre 1857 e 1860 pelo geógrafo Carlos Ribeiro (1813-1882). Relacionam-se, segundo Zbyszewski, com os trabalhos da Comissão Geológica e Topográfica de Filipe Folque e são um belo exemplo do trabalho gráfico desta época, apresentando convenções para a representações das diferentes rochas (cálcarios, arenitos, areias, etc). Carlos Ribeiro (1813-1882) foi um dos fundadores dos estudos geológicos que se baseiam no conceito de trabalho de campo geológico. Foi o primeiro geólogo português a reconhecer a sucessão estratigráfica dos terrenos do território de Portugal Continental. Inicia os estudos de Geologia em 1840 e em 1850 estabelece relações com o geólogo britânico Daniel Sharpe, que vivera uns anos em Portugal e já publicara alguns trabalhos sobre geologia do país. No período decorrido entre 1852 e 1857 traçou o primeiro esboço de uma carta geológica da região compreendida entre os rios Tejo e Douro. Um esboço do mapa geológico de Portugal Continental é enviado à Exposição Internacional de Paris e premiado com a medalha de prata. Em 1876, foi oficialmente publicado o mapa geológico de Portugal Continental. Este mapa viria a ser revisto, completado e actualizado, mais tarde, por Delgado e Paul Choffat. Em colaboração com Delgado, publicou em 1868 um estudo pioneiro sobre a arborização geral do país. Em 1863, inicia os seus estudos pré-históricos com a descoberta dos concheiros de Muge no vale do Tejo. Em 1880, mercê do interesse da comunidade científica internacional sobre a discussão que remetia para o Terciário a existência do Homem e, em particular, do empenho de Carlos Ribeiro, tem lugar em Lisboa, o IX Congresso Internacional de Antropologia e Arqueologia Pré-Históricas. Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.
Information regarding the right of withdrawal
Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to Livraria Castro e Silva, Lisboa, Portugal, +351 213467380, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
