Review
"This book contains richly detailed information... compiled during the course of the author's meticulous research... a good reference for achieving a better understanding of the development of modern Indonesian society, especially the growth and spread of new intellectual ideas in the middle nineteenth to the early twentieth centuries, as part of the colonial society."
