- Book 1 of 10: The Utterly Crime Series
Suffolk, England, 2010. Carpentry doesn’t come easy for Matt Finch. As clumsy with the wood as he is with social interactions, the nineteen-year-old hopeful is proud to have been accepted at the same carpentry school as his recently-deceased distant cousin. But he’s totally baffled by the mysterious cause of his long-lost relative’s death, and even more distraught about getting engulfed in an inferno when the academy’s ovens explode.
Injured in the blast and unable to claim his apprenticeship, Matt works with his two unlikely friends, Chrissie and Nick, to track down the offender. But while each of them struggles with their own changing situation, Chrissie, the oldest of the trio goes missing. Now it’s up to Matt and kindly Nick to rescue the petite woman before she's gunned down or worse…
Can they catch a callous culprit and stop the countryside terror?
Utterly Explosive is the first standalone book in the delightfully quirky Utterly Crime mystery series. If you like lovable friendships, casual cleverness, and charming rural settings, then you’ll love Pauline Manders’ eccentric adventure.
