About the Author
R. Geoff Dromey was the Foundation Professor of Software Engineering in the School of Information and Communication Technology at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. He was the founder and Director of the Software Quality Institute, a leading transition agency of Software Engineering best practice since 1992. He was a co-founder of a successful software company, Calytrix Technologies (see http://www.calytrix.com), which works in the Defence Sector and has offices in Australia and the USA. His most recent research interests were in development methods that control complexity in the analysis and design of large-scale software integrated systems. Outcomes of this work over the past ten years have been the Behavior Tree representation and the Behavior Engineering systems analysis and development process (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behavior_Trees). He has authored two books in leading international computer science series (Prentice-Hall and Addison-Wesley) and authored/co-authored more than 50 research journal papers and main conference papers. One of his books has sold over 100,000 copies. He has been serving on the editorial boards of three international journals. Before joining Griffith University he has worked at Stanford University, The Australian National University, and Wollongong University. He has also spent sabbaticals at Oxford University, Stanford University and Strathclyde University. R. Geoff Dromey received a Ph.D. in chemical physics from La Trobe University in 1973. He was a member of the IEEE and was an Engineering Australia representative on the EA/ACS Joint Board.
