Item description from seller

Tabloid sized softcover, unbound, on newsprint. 64pp. with black and white illustrations. Edited by Lisa Taylor. Slight wear to page edges particularly at bottom. Notable foxing to spine. This is a catalogue/companion text to a 1979 exhibition at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum, New York, examining urban open spaces: "[they are] more than our parks, plazas and playgrounds. They are also our streets, our waterfronts, our rooftops - all our communal outdoor spaces. Where to find them, how they affect us, and how to proect and renew them are [the exhibition's] vital and critical concerns". With a wealth of essays by dozens of contributors on subjects ranging from public graphic design, urban gardening, peoplewatching, art without museums, strollways, species conservation, urban wilds, and much more - please see photos for the full table of contents. Handsome volume in excellent overall condition.
