First edition. Tall, narrow octavo. [12]pp. Illustrated white paper-covered boards with a color chromolithograph vignette of lakeshore scene on front cover, with floral flourish. Illustrated throughout, including art nouveau style pictorial title page, printed in red and gold, and with chromolithograph vignettes, and full-page plates. Text printed in gold and red, within decorative chromolithographed border. Lightly rubbed at tips of spine, else a fine, bright copy. A scarce publication; unrecorded by *OCLC*, which does note several other poetry titles by this author, including four other Havergal titles published by Hayes Lithographer. Frances Ridley Havergal, English poet, began writing verse at the age of seven, and contributed to anthologies under the pseudonyms "Sabrina," and "Zoide." Her first collection, *The Ministry of Song,* was published in 1869 [see Blain. *Feminist Companion to Literature in English,* p. 499]. Seller Inventory # 519238
