Diaspora businesses drive economic growth and innovation by fostering entrepreneurship, creating jobs, and facilitating technology transfer across borders. They play a crucial role in both their host countries and countries of origin, contributing to local development and international trade. By leveraging cultural knowledge, personal networks, and transnational ties, diaspora entrepreneurs can navigate complex markets and serve as bridges between different economies. Their ventures often stimulate skill development, promote social mobility, and inspire future generations through mentorship and role modeling. In times of crisis, diaspora businesses also support community resilience through philanthropy and post-disaster recovery efforts, enhancing societal well-being globally. Unveiling the Potential of Diaspora Businesses: Global Insights uncovers the way through which diaspora individuals leverage their unique resources to create, develop, and sustain businesses, and how this is shaped by various institutional and legal frameworks. It explores the nature and the underpinning reasons and mechanisms of the contribution made by diasporan entrepreneurs and their businesses at different levels in both host countries and home countries. Covering topics such as business ownership, migrant integration, and women entrepreneurship, this book is an excellent resource for academicians, policymakers, practitioners, business leaders, researchers, and more.
