Paperback. Father Kein Laimend is sent to a remote Alaskan parish not because he is needed-but because he is no longer wanted. Removed from the center of the work and placed where nothing seems to happen, he is expected to remain quiet, obedient, and out of the way. In Port Morrow, the days are ordinary, the people are faithful, and the silence feels almost deliberate. But while Kein remains in the stillness, the world he left behind begins to shift. Decisions are made without him. Authority tightens. Lines of communication close. When one of their own is secretly removed from the field, it becomes clear that what looks like order may be something else entirely.Drawn back to Rome, Kein steps into a conflict that does not announce itself with chaos, but with control. As truth is shaped and influence moves behind closed doors, he is forced to confront a question far more dangerous than open evil-what happens when the ones meant to guard the Church begin deciding what should remain unseen?
