Stop wasting time rebuilding systems that should have been designed correctly from the beginning. UNREAL ENGINE 5 GAME PROGRAMMING & ARCHITECTURE helps you develop stronger, more maintainable games while reducing the costly trial-and-error that comes with poorly structured projects. By learning how to design reusable systems, organize gameplay logic, and make better architectural decisions, you can spend less time fighting your code and more time creating polished game experiences.
Unreal Engine 5 gives developers powerful tools, but turning those tools into a professional game requires more than knowing individual features. This book takes you from writing C++ gameplay code to designing complete, scalable game architectures.
You’ll learn how to combine C++, Blueprints, AI, multiplayer systems, Gameplay Ability System (GAS), and modular design to build gameplay that is easier to expand, debug, test, and maintain.
Rather than simply explaining what Unreal Engine can do, the book focuses on how and why to structure systems effectively. You’ll develop the skills needed to move from isolated gameplay mechanics toward cohesive systems that can support increasingly complex projects.
Many developers can make a character move, create an enemy, or implement a basic gameplay mechanic—but struggle when their project grows.
This book helps you overcome that transition.
You’ll learn how to avoid tightly coupled code, manage communication between systems, integrate C++ with Blueprints effectively, and design gameplay architecture that remains understandable as your project expands. You’ll also gain practical insight into AI, networking, GAS, modular systems, debugging, and professional development workflows.
The result is greater confidence when making architectural decisions and fewer painful rewrites later in development.
Whether you are an aspiring Unreal programmer, C++ developer moving into game development, or an experienced developer seeking a stronger architectural approach, this book is designed to help you build beyond simple prototypes.
You’ll benefit most if you want to understand how professional Unreal Engine projects are structured, not merely how to follow isolated tutorials.
By the end, you’ll have a clearer mental model for turning gameplay ideas into robust, reusable, and scalable systems.
Don’t let complicated projects, fragile gameplay code, or endless rewrites hold back your development.
UNREAL ENGINE 5 GAME PROGRAMMING & ARCHITECTURE gives you the principles and practical direction to build with greater confidence, structure your systems intelligently, and prepare your Unreal projects for growth.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
