Overview of Unlock the Academic Wordlist: Sublists 7-10
The Academic Word List (AWL) contains 570 word families which frequently appear in academic texts, divided into 10 sublists. Unlock the Academic Word List: Sublists 7-10, the third in a three book series, covers all words in sublists 7, 8, 9 and 10 of the AWL, 210 in total. There is detailed information about each of the words, including pronunciation, definitions, word form, word family and common academic collocations. There are comprehensive exercises for each sublist to help students focus on meaning and also to use the words productively.
About the Unlock the Academic Wordlist series
Each book in the Unlock the Academic Word List contains a wealth of information to help students go beyond the meaning and explore collocation and usage of words in the AWL. A unique feature of each book is that it gives only the most common meanings of the words as used in academic contexts, rather than all possible meanings, saving much time and effort. The academic collocations are taken from the ACL (Academic Collocation List). The Introduction includes a study guide to help students understand how to use the AWL to improve their academic vocabulary. There are additional online exercises and resources, which can be accessed using the access code available in each book.
