Original Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First Edition. First US edition. Originally published in the UK by Collins in 1941. Ex-lending library copy with 19 date stamps to the rear free endpaper where 'Mayfair Gift and Sweet Shop, Maplewood, N.J.' is also stamped - there is one more date stamp to an earlier endpaper. The boards have a little corner rubbing, a small surface dent to the front panel and a few light marks around the edges. Page edges a little browned with light edge wear. Small tape marks to the endpapers which are a little yellowed. The pages are slightly browned with a few small spots in places but are generally clean and unmarked. The jacket has half inch chips out of the top right corner of the front panel and at the bottom of the spine. There is chipping in several places around the edges and at the corners with a few closed tears. The jacket has been repaired to the reverse at the top of the spine where there are two closed tears and some heavy creasing. There is some surface rubbing to the rear panel and small tape marks to the front and rear flaps. First printing. Seller Inventory # 017857
