About the Author: J.P. Verma, Ph.D., is the Vice Chancellor of Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University of Assam. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Mathematics of Jiwaji University. He was previously a faculty member at Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) for 38 years. He served in several positions while at LNIPE, including I/c Vice Chancellor, Head of the Department of Sports Psychology, Dean of Student Welfare, Director of the Centre for Advanced Studies, and Member of the Board of Management. One of his main research interests is sports statistics, which aims to bring the rigor of research methodology to sports and physical education.
