Paperback. A royal decree orders the empire to destroy the Jews on a fixed day-and Persian law says a sealed decree cannot be revoked. How, then, does Purim end in survival? Understanding Megillat Esther presents a unique and powerful answer from R. Yosef ibn Kaspi (1280-1345) in his commentary on the Book of Esther-translated and adapted into English for the first time. With careful reading of the Megilla's language and logic, Ibn Kaspi restores the story's pressure and realism-and trains you to notice Providence working through law, politics, and timing. Read it before the Megilla, and Purim becomes sharper: the danger feels real, the reversal feels earned, and the joy lands deeper. DA'AT PRESS This item is printed on demand.
