Ireland has experienced the largest destruction of wealth of any developed country during the 2007-10 economic crisis. Understanding Ireland's Economic Crisis brings together policy makers, union representatives and internationally recognised academics to look at Ireland's crisis from many different angles.
Understanding Ireland's Economic Crisis contains recommendations from Ireland's top economic and policy commentators for boosting and sustaining the post-crisis economy. It is relevant, accessible and written to stimulate public debate.
How can Ireland, as a small open economy, prosper in the medium term? Answering this question, the contributors present constructive proposals for the positive steps to be taken to aid economic recovery in Ireland. This is an invaluable collection of the views of our most eminent economic thinkers on recovery at a particularly gloomy time for the Irish economy.
The objective of this book is to provide an understanding of what caused the crisis and to develop a set of key recommendations to guide Ireland's policy makers into a post-crisis era.
Understanding Ireland's Economic Crisis is written for a general audience, and should be of great interest to policy makers, researchers and students.
