Is creating a tech healthy family important to you? Are you worried about the amount of digital screen time your children are getting? Or maybe you are wondering how to break up with your phone?
If any of the above is true, it might be time to start thinking outside the cell and develop better digital habits in today's always-on society.
Unfortunately, the same tech life tools making life so much easier are competing for our attention and resulting in new mental health challenges from tech.
But you’re not the only one struggling to understand how your phone is changing you and seeking to improve your tech-life balance… millions are struggling to improve relationship with tech and trying to become the tech wise family.
One of the main drivers of this rising epidemic of technostress and digital burnout stems from digital overwhelm as we try to filter out the tremendous volume of information provided by the Internet and social media.
Fighting for your attention has become a multi-billion-dollar industry for the attention merchants. Billions of websites and countless spammers target you whenever you turn on your digital devices, trying to pull you in and grab your attention - and possibly your money!
But the damage isn’t beyond repair – there's some silver lining amidst all this chaos.
Experts claim that understanding tech’s effect on mental health and limiting the use could help control symptoms contributing to depression.
In this book, you’ll discover:
- The troubling reality of mental health issues from tech – and its effect on users
- What Facebook Depression is, and why negative Facebook experiences are 3x more likely to lead to depression
- The #1 reason why remote working may not be as rewarding as it was believed to be
- Shocking real-life incidents that debug the myth of multitasking
- Detailed insight into the concepts of techno anxiety and digital burnout – and why it’s so common in our burnout society
- FOMO – and its impact on the new generation
- 8 digital detox strategies to improve digital wellness and mental health for a simpler and happier life
- 7 research-based solutions for handling issues with decision fatigue
- 12 factors – dubbed as the Digital Dozen by psychologists – that make smartphones the most addictive devices, and possibly 12 ways your phone is changing you!
And so much more!
The use of digital devices has transformed our lives…though we have been warned about the mental health risks for years!
Digital devices become increasingly irresistable - the rise of addictive technology, the happiness effect, and how social media is driving a generation to appear to be living perfect lives. Lonely people are more likely to turn to social media to form social connections, but the time spent on social media can also increase loneliness. Also, an estimated twenty to forty percent of adolescents are victims of cyberbullying worldwide, although the actual number is likely much higher.
So how can we escape the attention factory and stay indistractable? Is the only solution to embrace digital minimalism and lower screen time for our family or, in fact, lower screen time for everyone else too?
Fortunately not. You don’t have to go on a 40 day social media fast, find ten arguments for deleting your social media accounts right now or constantly looking for social media dangers.
You can change your life by making a few simple yet realistic changes to find better tech habits, one step at a time.
If you’re struggling to limit your amount of digital screen time and want to build great tech habits, then scroll up and grab your copy of Understand Digital Wellness in the Overwhelming Digital Age today.
