Paperback. Under the Shadow of the Almighty is a careful, devotional journey through one of the Bible's best-loved psalms. Psalm 91 has comforted believers for generations with its promises of refuge, protection, and peace. Yet these precious words are often misunderstood as guarantees of a life free from suffering or danger. This booklet returns to the psalm itself, exploring its rich biblical meaning with reverence, pastoral warmth, and careful attention to the whole witness of Scripture. Moving verse by verse, each chapter reflects on the Lord as our Refuge, Fortress, Deliverer, Shelter, Shield, and faithful Keeper. Along the way, the reader is invited to distinguish true faith from presumption, to rest in God's sovereign providence, and to discover that the greatest promise of Psalm 91 is not merely protection from trouble, but the presence of God Himself. Throughout the book, connections are made with the wider Scriptures, from the wilderness journey and the Psalms to the life, temptation, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, showing how the promises of Psalm 91 find their fullest fulfilment in Him. Written in a reflective and accessible style, Under the Shadow of the Almighty encourages believers to trust the Lord in every season of life, whether in days of peace or in times of uncertainty, suffering, or fear. It points beyond temporary safety to the everlasting refuge found in Christ, whose faithfulness never fails. If you long to understand Psalm 91 more deeply and to know the God who speaks through it more fully, this book offers a thoughtful and Christ-centred guide to one of Scripture's most treasured passages.
