When a workplace fire lands widowed single mom Sloane Merritt in the arms of grumpy firefighter Weston Graves, their small-town rescue goes viral-and so does their chemistry. Eventually.
Thrown together for a string of awkward public appearances, what starts as mutual disdain quickly turns into late-night calls, stolen glances, and sparks they can't ignore. West, who has spent years burying his grief over the brother he couldn't save, doesn't know what to do with the feelings Sloane stirs in him-or the way her two young kids start to feel like home. And Sloane, who has worked so hard to keep her world steady, isn't sure she can survive loving someone who runs toward danger for a living.
Their worlds have never looked more different-hers built on careful routines, his on answering the call at a moment's notice. But as their lives entwine, and as West falls for Sloane's kids as deeply as he's falling for her, they begin to find something neither of them expected: a family.
In the end, they'll both have to decide what's worth holding on to-and what's worth letting go-when love, family, and the life you've always known are on the line.
