Not dated, approx 1930s. 392pp. Good/Good. Blue cloth boards with very minor rubbing to edges/spine. Contents generally clean and tight but for a little spotting mainly to page edges. Owners inscription and school stamp to ffep. Nicely illustrated DW with minor rubbing/chipping to edges/spine, a few small tears and minor soiling. Colour plate at frontis. Landmark anti-slavery novel first published in 1852, that played an important role in abolition of slavery in the US and was a key piece of literature in laying the ground for the American Civil War. It has since fallen out of favour because of its stereotypical characterisation of African Americans. Scarce edition. Seller Inventory # 007006
