This hardcover copy of Uncle Tom's Cabin or Life Among the Lowly, by Harriet Beecher Stowe was published in 1853. This is the illustrated edition complete in one volume. Original designs by Billings and engravings by Baker and Smith. No mention is made of which printing. It is in Fair condition. It is covered in deep red leather with gilt designs on the front and spine. The inside endpaper is white with light red and black design. All edges of pages are gilt, but some has worn off. As you can see in the pictures, the cover has separated from the book completely in the front and at the spine. The back is still attached. The front pages have foxing. There is a name written in very light pencil on the first blank page. I found no other markings. There is no dust jacket. The book comes from a smoke free home.
