nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Uncle and Nephew in the Old French Chansons de Geste: A Study in the Survival of Matriarchy is a scholarly book written by William Oliver Farnsworth. The book examines the representation of the uncle-nephew relationship in the Old French chansons de geste, a genre of epic poems that were popular in medieval France. Farnsworth argues that the uncle-nephew relationship in these poems is a reflection of the survival of matriarchy, or the dominance of women in society, in medieval France. The book explores how the uncle-nephew relationship is used to express and reinforce matriarchal values and beliefs, and how it reflects the changing social and cultural landscape of medieval France. Farnsworth draws on a range of sources, including literary texts, historical documents, and anthropological studies, to support his arguments. The book will be of interest to scholars and students of medieval literature, gender studies, and cultural history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.…
