nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Every masterpiece arrives pre-defended. It comes with a reputation, a reading-group guide, a film adaptation, and at least one professor prepared to die for it.The Uncharitable Library removes the defense. Here are 300 of the greatest works ever written, each summarized in a single sentence - the plot stripped of its dignity, the theme deflated with a pin: Wuthering Heights - Two thoroughly unpleasant people ruin two generations of lives rather than simply talk to each other, and we are assured this is romance. The Road - A father and son walk south through the apocalypse, and almost no one uses a comma.Murder on the Orient Express - A detective discovers that everyone on the train did it.From the ones they made you read to the Russians, the Victorians, the doorstops and the books you only claim to have finished, across sixteen sections. The summaries are unfair, not untrue.Read it in order or open it at random. Use it to feel superior, to remember a book you loved, or to win an argument you should probably have lost.…
