Indulge your nostalgia for the '70s!
- Pop culture that defined the decade, from hot summers riding skateboards and Raleigh Choppers to the sounds of pop, disco, hip-hop, ska, and reggae drifting from turntables and tape decks
- The '70s most iconic trends, musicians, albums, movies, and pop culture phenomena, from Stretch Armstrong and Evel Knievel to Atari, Pong, Lite Brites, Star Wars, and more
- Fashion icons featuring key styles of the seventies, from the disco glamor of bell-bottoms and platform shoes to the unique styles of punk and the rise of the pantsuit
- Stunning high-quality photographs and full-color illustrations from the 1970s
How do you remember the seventies? Whether it's as the "Me Decade," the heatwave of 1976, or the Winter of Discontent, you'll find something in these pages to stir up nostalgia for the pop culture that defined a generation!
Cinemas were showing groundbreaking movies, from Star Wars and Suspiria to Smokey and the Bandit, and TV programming was in its golden age with classic kids' shows like The Tom and Jerry Show and The Muppet Show, sitcoms from Sanford and Son to Happy Days, dramas including Little House on the Prairie and Dallas, and more, all played out on brand-new color TV sets. Then came the first-ever video game consoles — the Magnavox Odyssey, which released just a few months before the Atari 2600 — and along with it, Pong.
In The Ultimate 70s Collection, you'll read and remember (or imagine!) what life was like in this momentous decade filled with legendary toys, trends, music, movies, celebrities, and other pop culture phenomena. Explore all the childhood favorite toys and games like Connect 4, Etch a Sketch, Speak & Spell, Simon, Weebles, Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots, Hungry Hippos, Boggle, Battleship, and more.
Remember the chart-topping songs, albums, artists, and musical events of the decade, including Michael Jackson going solo, the soundtrack to Grease, My Sharona from one-hit wonders The Knack, David Bowie's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, AC/DC's Highway to Hell, Led Zepplin IV, Kiss, Queen, Blondie, The Clash, Ramones, Bee Gees, Love to Love You Baby from Donna Summer, and many more.
Discover how the iconic Dungeons & Dragons game was first created, the origins of Paddington Bear, the unique makeup of Stretch Armstrong, the musical revolution of the Sony Walkman, the story of Pong, 70 films that defined the '70s, from Dirty Harry and Escape from the Planet of the Apes to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Young Frankenstein, and explore a Star Wars retrospective.
Filled with fascinating articles, high-quality photography, and so much more, take a trip down memory lane and rediscover the most notable developments of the seventies with The Ultimate 70s Collection!

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
