Synopsis: "When all Shards of the Abyss unite, the Lord of Shadow will reveal his might." - Sagorn Proverb
Long ago, the once mighty Civilization of Azod suffered unrepairable destruction because of the Cataclysm, an event brought upon the inhabitants of Anastia by Zanathar, a cruel, merciless being. Using his strength and cunning, the dark warrior was not only able to bring about an end to the proud civilization, but eventually its winged champions known as the Knights of Krenton, or Korintans. In addition, the Great End left scars in the world itself. Much of the continent of Isumol had been claimed by the sea, leaving behind two smaller ones in its wake.
Though defeated, the Korintans, with their newly christened apprentices, the Guardian Knights, fought to imprison Zanathar before any more harm could be brought onto Anastia. Though Zanathar could not be destroyed, a clever plan allowed the heroes to trap the tyrant and his Shadow Legion within an artificial world that would come to be known as the Abyss.
Two thousand years have passed since the Cataclysm and Zanathar's fall. Events have transpired over the past decades, drawing the Lord of Shadow that much closer to freedom. Those loyal to him have launched a campaign against the United Civilizations of Anastia to gain the remaining Shards of the Abyss. As time draws near and circumstances become more desperate, Mikiel and his allies ponder the nagging questions that plagues them all; If Zanathar is freed, can they stand against such a relentlessly powerful being? Or, like those before them, will they fail, leading to an era of darkness not seen in thousands of years?
Return of Zanathar is the exciting sequel to Dawn of the Guardian and Book 2 of the Guardian Saga!
Autobiography: Donald Corrigan's series, Doomsday Warriors, began as an idea when he was 14. Through years of coming up with ideas, compiling notes, and organizing them into something thrilling, he was able to bring to life the dream of a young, teenage boy who was (and still is) enthralled by stories of fantasy and science-fiction in faraway worlds. His love of both genres compelled him to create his ongoing series.
When he is not working on his stories, he enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, studying history/mythology, and watching movies. He lives in Michigan with his wife and two sons.
