One pasteboard box with numbered cards, each about 7.5" x 4.5", on which are reproduced, by a collotype process, outline sketches, mostly in pencil, of selected Egyptian statues from various collections. This is Vol. 1, containing 315 [i.e. 311] plates, and a pamphlet (introduction and index), which states on page x, "Numbers 180, 287, 289, 303 haven been eliminated." Below it, the previous owner has penciled in "31a, 147a, 232a, and 237a inserted." Box worn at edges, with masking tape on lid. Lower part of box split at one corner. The stapled spine pamphlet is worn from handling, with a short tear at the spine head, curls at corners. Cards are yellowing, with light wear to some corners. Only one of the original 3 boxes, but scarce nonetheless. Seller Inventory # 224145
