Type 3 Diabetes: The Hidden Link Between Blood Sugar, Brain Health, and Healing Naturally
by Dr. Constance Santego
What if the real danger of diabetes isn’t just in your blood sugar — but in your brain?
For years, diabetes has been treated as a disease of the body. But groundbreaking research now shows that unstable glucose and insulin resistance directly affect the brain, fueling memory loss, mood swings, brain fog, and even Alzheimer’s disease. This hidden connection has been called Type 3 Diabetes — diabetes of the brain.
In this empowering book, Dr. Constance Santego blends personal story, science made simple, and holistic healing practices to reveal how blood sugar imbalances impact both body and mind — and what you can do to take back control.
Through her own journey of vivid dreams, nighttime “episodes,” and an eventual diagnosis, Dr. Santego shares how she uncovered the missing link between sugar swings and brain health. Drawing from her decades of experience as a natural medicine doctor and educator, she offers practical, compassionate tools for restoring balance.
Inside, you’ll discover:
-
The surprising connection between blood sugar swings, memory decline, and dementia.
-
Signs and symptoms you should never ignore — from cravings to brain fog to “dream episodes.”
-
Food as medicine: how to balance meals using the 50/25/25 method and the order of eating.
-
Quick-reference lists of stabilizing vs. spiking foods — and how to handle cravings without willpower battles.
-
Herbal and nutritional supports, including cinnamon, turmeric, bitter melon, rosemary, sage, and more.
-
Why walking after meals can be as effective as medication.
-
The impact of stress, sleep, and spiritual practices on blood sugar and brain health.
-
Nighttime rituals and dream science — how your sleep reveals the state of your sugar and your brain.
-
A 7-day balance plan and a 30-day reset to put everything into practice.
-
Reflection prompts and journaling exercises to help you listen to your body and uncover the “sweetness of life” beyond sugar.
Far more than a medical guide, Type 3 Diabetes is a book of hope and empowerment. It shows that small, consistent lifestyle shifts can reverse symptoms, protect vital organs, and even slow or prevent the progression toward dementia.
Whether you’ve been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, suspect you have insulin resistance, or want to protect your memory and clarity as you age, this book will give you the tools, the confidence, and the inspiration to take charge of your health.
You are not your diagnosis. You are not defined by your blood sugar. Healing is possible — and the sweetness of life is waiting for you.
