Four books bound in one volume. Professionally rebound and includes new endpapers. Sturdy quarter brown leather binding with light beige cloth boards. Five raised bands adorn the spine with gilt accents, and a burgundy leather label stamped in gilt lettering. Red sprinkled edges. 24 pp., 192 pp., 68 pp., [pagination 53-120], 69 pp., 344 pp. Mild external wear with some soiling and light dampstain. A few portions of pages have some moisture marks, and others have mild to moderate browning/smudges. First several pages have slight paper loss to their fore-edges (doesn't affect text). Yet for being over 300 years old, the pages are in very good condition. In fact, the entire book is quite well-preserved. Only occasional annotation in antiquarian diped ink. A beautiful antiquarian treasure. Full refund if not satisfied.ABOUT THE AUTHORS: (Very little information was found on William Allen, theologian. Thomas Bray (1656 or 1658?1730) was an English clergyman and abolitionist who helped formally establish the Church of England in Maryland, as well as the Society for the Propagation of Christian Knowledge and Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts. John Kettlewell (1653?1695) was an English clergyman, nonjuror, and devotional writer. He published in February 1687-8 his Practical Believer, which passed through many editions.
