Excerpt from Two New Worlds: I. The Infra-World, II. The Supra-World
For the philosophical doctrines guiding these researches I am very greatly indebted to my revered master and friend, Dr. Johnstone Stoney, whose ontological speculations have profoundly in fluenced and enlightened me. Ontology is a subject left uncultivated by most modern men of science, and that may account for the somewhat materialistic tendency Of most Of their writings when touching on philosophical subjects. The science Of the mind is as yet in its infancy, largely on account of the lack Of a comprehensive theory of mental pheno mena. Mental pathology and psychical research will enter on a career Of useful achievement as soon as they can agree Upon a point of view. At present all is chaos and guesswork. The Kepler and Newton Of the soul are still awaited.

This book delves into the existence of two undiscovered worlds lying on extreme scales of size, one at an unfathomably small scale known as the infra-world, and the other at an incomprehensibly large scale called the supra-world. The author proposes that these worlds, which are not easily observable with current technology, may possess inhabitants and physical properties akin to our own universe. The infra-world, in particular, is posited to be inhabited by beings whose existence unfolds at a pace millions of times faster than ours, and yet who experience time on the same scale that we do. The author derives this hypothesis from the electron theory, which describes electrons as possessing a structure similar to our own universe, with atoms resembling suns and electrons like planets. This extrapolation enables the author to mathematically model the infra-world, concluding that the forces within it differ greatly from our own, with electrical forces playing a far more significant role than gravitational forces. The author goes on to speculate about the inhabitants of the infra-world, suggesting they may have a rich culture and history unfathomable to us. The book raises fascinating questions about the nature of our universe and the possibility of life beyond our perception, offering a thought-provoking exploration of the vastness and mystery of the cosmos.
