About this Item
A political cartoon depicting a woodcut engraving of a man wearing a top hat sitting on top of a fence. He has two-faces, and as such, he says to the man standing on the right side of the fence "Don't you be alarmed. Ratigan is the last man I shall appoint any how," while at the same time telling the man on the left side of the fence "You are all right Ratigan. You are the first on the list." The cartoon is titled, "Our Two-Faced Mayor. Applications received both sides of the fence." It is unknown if the cartoon is representing a specific event or political campaign or more simply the general idea that all politicians are two-faced and often promise contradicting ideas depending on who their audience is. Measures 9 1/4" x 7 3/4" Tape residue. Almost torn in two. Toned due to age. Seller Inventory # 29012104
