nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - A cold English mist drifts across the lawns of Cliveden, yet beneath its quiet, a woman's resolve burns with transatlantic ambition. From the drawing rooms of Virginia to the corridors of Westminster, this political autobiography unfolds as a rare account of a life lived at the fulcrum of two nations and two centuries. With an unflinching candour and a sharp wit, the author traces her extraordinary journey as an American-born woman who became a pioneering figure in British political history, confronting prejudice and expectation at every turn. Her reflections on social change, the shifting roles of women in politics, and the intricacies of Anglo-American relations are rendered with a keen eye for detail and a deep sense of personal conviction. The narrative moves fluidly between the genteel traditions of English country life and the charged debates of parliamentary history, always anchored by the tension of belonging to two worlds. The memoir's pages capture not only the public battles for influence and reform, but also the quiet, private moments that shaped her resilience and vision. This is a biography of rare insight, offering a window into the early twentieth century through the eyes of one of its most influential women figures. It speaks to anyone fascinated by historical memoirs, the evolution of women leaders, or the enduring complexities of identity and allegiance. This book was out of print for decades and is now republished by Alpha Editions. It has been restored for today's and future generations. This edition is not just a reprint - it's a collector's item and a cultural treasure.…
