A fascinating history of the famous firm of Scotts and a primary source for this famous firm of ship builders. Third Edition. Charting the history and development of the history of shipbuilding, in relation to the Scott Family. The volume is prefaced with a brief history of the Scott family, from its origin in 1711, up until the time of publication, that being 1950. Throughout charting this personal history the book explores the continued development of shipbuilding industry, starting with 'The Era of Sailing Ships' through to 'The Engine and Boiler Works'. With gilt embossed detail to the front board, reads 'H.M.S Puma'. H.M.S Puma was a Type 41 Leopard class British Royal Navy warship. Illustrated with plates, and in text diagrams and illustrations. Collated, complete. In full morocco binding, with gilt detailing to the front board. Externally rubbed. Rubbing to the head and tail of the spine, to the joints and to the extremities. Rubbing to the front and rear boards, resulting in s a small amount of ls. Scratch to the rear board. Offsetting, to the front and rear pastedowns and endpapers. Agetoning to the topedge, foredge and bottomedge. Front and rear hinges are strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally clean. Slight offsetting to the title page and frontispiece. The odd handling mark throughout. Collated, complete. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 594C12
