Add to basketTwo birds, one white and one black, are best friends. The white bird is always happy and cheerful, while the black bird is more serious and thoughtful. One day, the two birds are flying through the forest when they see a group of people gathered around a fire. The white bird is drawn to the people and their joy, but the black bird is not so sure. He stays in the tree and watches from a distance.
The white bird flies down to the ground and joins the people. He laughs and talks with them, and they give him food and water. The black bird sees this and becomes jealous. He thinks that the white bird is getting all the attention, and he doesn't like it.
The black bird flies away and finds a group of other birds. He tells them about the white bird and how he is getting all the attention. The other birds are angry and they agree to help the black bird get revenge.
The next day, the black bird and his friends wait for the white bird to come down from the tree. When the white bird lands on the ground, the black bird and his friends attack him. They peck at him and pull out his feathers. The white bird is badly injured.
The people see what is happening and they try to stop the black bird and his friends. But the black bird and his friends are too strong. They chase the white bird away and leave him for dead.
The white bird is badly injured, but he is not dead. He crawls away from the black bird and his friends and finds a safe place to rest. He lies there for many days, too weak to move.
One day, a wise old owl finds the white bird. The owl takes pity on the white bird and nurses him back to health. The white bird is grateful to the owl and he asks the owl why the black bird had attacked him.
The owl tells the white bird that the black bird was jealous of him. He tells the white bird that he should not worry about what other people think of him. He should just be himself and be happy.
The white bird takes the owl's advice to heart. He forgives the black bird and he stops worrying about what other people think of him. He just focuses on being himself and being happy.
The white bird eventually recovers from his injuries and he flies back to the tree where he and the black bird had lived. He sees the black bird sitting in the nest and he flies down to him.
"I forgive you," the white bird said. "I know you were just jealous. I hope we can be friends again."
The black bird is surprised and he is ashamed of what he had done. He apologizes to the white bird and they become friends again.
The story teaches us that we should not be jealous of others. We should just focus on being ourselves and being happy. We should also forgive others for their mistakes.
