Quarto, original boards, illustrated throughout with over three hundred black and white drawings, paintings, and photographs from the photographic collection of Frederick Hill Meserve. Near fine in a very good dust jacket. Jacket design by Brendan F. Mulvey. In 1897, Frederick Hill Meserve began acquiring pictures to illustrate his father's experience of the Civil War.
