WASHINGTON in 1881, The Tuskegee Institute was the first institution of higher learning for African Americans. This Catalog lists the faculty, students, programs, courses of study, etc. for 1922-1923. Volume XVII, January-March, No. 1. There are 184 numbered pages. Near the back of the book is a full-page black & white photograph showing the "Boys of the Mechanical Department Assisting in the Erection of One of the Five New Trades Buildings." There is an Index at the back. "Typesetting and Printing done by Students of the Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute - Tuskegee Institute, Alabama." Condition: The front cover is detached. The back cover is firmly attached. There is a small tear/piece missing at the bottom-left edge of the front cover. The bottom-right corner of the front cover is creased. Light stain along the bottom edge of the pages throughout the book. Pages 87-128 are creased at the lower-outer corner. Page 127 is creased/crinkled at the outer edge. The pages are lightly age-toned. Overall the catalog is in Fair condition.
