Written in Yiddish, for women, who in centuries past generally did not read Hebrew and were not as well-versed in biblical commentary as men, Tse'ena Ure'ena is a summary of the weekly Torah (= Pentateuch = the first five books of the Bible) readings and traditional biblical commentary and folklore relating to it.
