Print on Demand. This book presents a compelling case for a religious society founded on practical religion, devoid of the dogma and supernaturalism that the author argues pervades conventional religious practice. The author, a self-proclaimed Indel , and his followers seek to create a church that emphasizes moral living and good works over adherence to creed or ritual, viewing the universe as governed by immutable laws rather than a capricious deity. The book is a fascinating exploration of the nature of religion, the existence of God, and the role of science and reason in shaping our understanding of the world. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.

IN preparing this volume for the press my work has been for the most part merely editorial. While, perhaps, in one sense, I might be truthfully called the author, yet I am not entitled to that distinction, and disclaim it.
