Truth and Deception: The Polygraph ('Lie-Detector') Technique by John E. Reid and Fred E. Inbau is a foundational text in forensic psychology and criminal investigation, first published in 1966. Drawing on decades of experience, the authors detail the physiological principles behind polygraph testing and outline the Reid technique, which includes control questions, verbal stimulation, and various diagnostic methods to detect deception. The book also explores legal admissibility, common countermeasures, and the use of polygraphs in personnel investigations, offering case illustrations and technical tracings to support its methodology. This is a hardback book without a dust jacket, in good.
