Neuware - Trusting the Currents represents a new literary genre of conscious storytelling, engaging high spiritual frequencies that resonate with the reader's heart, guiding them deep into their own truth and transformation. Some moments change everything you become. Author Lynnda Pollio's life as a busy New Yorker abruptly changes when she unexpectedly hears the mystical, elderly voice of Addie Mae Aubrey, a Southern, African American woman. Her first words, 'It's not what happened to me that matters,' begin a spirited remembering of Addie Mae's teenage years in the late 1930s rural south and the hard learned wisdom Addie Mae asks Lynnda to share. As women from different times and places, together they embark on an uncommon journey. Narrated by Addie Mae Aubrey, Trusting the Currents is a spiritual story of faith, courage, forgiveness, and the uneasy search for one's place in life. Beginning at age eleven with the arrival of beautiful, mysterious cousin Jenny and her shadowy stepfather, Uncle Joe, Trusting the Currents explores Addie Mae's reluctant awakening. As Jenny, the story's mystical center introduces Addie Mae to the spiritual world, a caring teacher, Miss Blanchard, guides Addie Mae with the power of reading. Romantic love enters her life for the first time with Rawley, and we experience how Addie Mae's emerging sense of self compels her to a life altering decision. Throughout the story her mother remains an unwavering source of love, even when fear and evil shake their lives. Unfathomable loss and rising trust in the 'Invisibles' not only transforms Addie Mae's budding life, but leads to the author's own spiritual awakening. This unlikely pair becomes partners in showing us how to trust our own life currents. Lynnda Pollio is a Consciousness Advocate, Founder, and Chief Consciousness Officer of ELEVATE, a collaborative that is committed to elevating global consciousness through the human technologies of wisdom, intuition, compassion, empathy, gratitude and forgiveness. Trusting the Currents is Lynnda's first novel. She currently lives in New York City.…

Author Lynnda Pollio's life changes abruptly when she begins hearing the mystical, elderly voice of Addie Mae Aubrey, a Southern, African American woman from the 1930s rural South. Narrated by Addie Mae Aubrey, Trusting the Currents is a story of self-discovery and the uneasy search for one's place in life. Beginning at age eleven with the arrival of beautiful, mysterious cousin Jenny and her shadowy stepfather, Uncle Joe, Trusting the Currents explores Addie Mae's reluctant awakening. As Jenny introduces Addie Mae to the natural world, a caring teacher guides Addie Mae with the power of reading. Romantic love enters her life for the first time with Rawley, and we learn how Addie Mae's emerging sense of self compels her to a life-altering decision, even as fear and evil shakes their lives. There are three levels to the unique novel: Addie Mae's powerful story, universal life messages woven throughout the book, and high energetic frequencies embedded her wisdom. Addie Mae reveals how life blossoms when we have the courage to not only accept but also learn from our mistakes and sorrows. Her story may belong to one woman, but the lessons it teaches belong to everyone willing to open their hearts and listen to the truth within their souls. Trusting the Currents is a powerful book for anyone going through change and struggle in their lives.

Review
"While Pollio admirably asks "what right did I have to tell a black southern woman's story?" her saga holds surprising power, at times approaching the grandeur of The Color Purple and Beloved with the insights of a delightful wise-child narrator. Gorgeous imagining of a touching, memorable guiding spirit." - Kirkus Reviews
"Trusting the Currents is a wonderful surprise--a beautifully written novel that hits all the right notes." Writer's Digest Judge's Commentary
"Pollio taps into the hardships of the rural South during the 1930s in this gripping, lyrical story about a young girl coming of age in a region full of prejudice and exploitation. Twelve-year old Addie Mae and her informally adopted sister, Jenny, are thick as thieves on their unnamed country farmhouse. Mama watches over the two girls, who are constantly getting in trouble--sometimes of their own doing, but often the curious girls are unsuspecting bystanders to local tragedies. As Mama becomes more concerned with finding a husband, and Uncle Joe lazily drinks hisdays away on the farm, Addie begins to explore recent events of child kidnappings. In the prologue, Pollio explains how Addie's voice came to her after the death of her father, imploring the author to relay her story. Readers may find Pollio's explanation a bit eccentric, but the simple, affecting tale of Addie's life is engrossing. Religion, culture, and family blend together seamlessly in this haunting and refreshing story." - Publisher's Weekly BookLife
